The Signature 115 is the baby of the range, measuring just 5.70m long – shorter than some of the campervans reviewed in this issue. Its extra width compared with van-based models, along with the flat sides of a coachbuilt, however, create a spacious interior that is designed as a pure two-berth. The Signature is instantly recognisable, thanks to its light metallic blue cab and bold new graphics. External features also include a solar panel, outside shower point and mains socket, insulated water tanks and a Teleco digital TV aerial. As well as the new, more refined, more economical engine, the Boxer cab is well equipped, with air-conditioning, driver and passenger airbags, cruise control, DAB radio with Bluetooth, silver dashboard embellishment kit and a multi-function steering wheel as standard. reversing camera are also fitted. Remis cab blinds make night-time privacy a doddle. Inside, the layout is a classic design that caters for couples. There’s a front lounge/dining area with a pair of side-facing bench seats in bespoke stain-resistant upholstery, complete with armrests and contrasting scatter cushions. The cab chairs rotate to expand the lounge and a free-standing table is added for mealtimes, while an overcab skylight creates a light, bright feel to the seating area. At night, the lounge seats pull together to quickly convert into a transverse double bed. The bed measures a stated 2.08m by 1.34m. Meanwhile, you’ll be kept warm by a 4kW space-saving Whale heater running from gas and/or the campsite hook-up. It comes with a quiet night-time setting. The kitchen is located across the rear wall, adjacent to the habitation door, and here you’ll find a three-burner gas hob, plus a 230V hotplate, grill, full oven, eye-level microwave and a three-way fridge. An Omnivent extractor fan is provided to take away the smells of your cooking. The layout is completed with a rear corner washroom with swivel cassette toilet, washbasin on a plinth and a curtain for showering. The blown-air heating includes the bathroom, but, as it’s summer now, you’re probably more likely to note the roll-out awning and the full flyscreen for the habitation door. As it’s built by Elddis, the Signature also benefits from the County Durham firm’s SoLiD construction using a unique jointing system and tried and tested structural bonding adhesives from Henkel.
